Ultra+ User Guide

Quick Start

1. Install using Ultra+ Manager or manual installation
2. Configure settings using UPM or edit config files - see Configuration Guide
3. Press F12 in-game to apply settings (disable Steam screenshots if conflicting)
4. Load presets: apply uplus_defaults then a quality preset (low/medium/high/veryhigh/epic)
5. Check game-specific pages for detailed information

⚠️ Important: Do not use Engine.ini mods with Ultra+ as they will likely cause crashes or visual issues. Ultra+ already includes comprehensive engine optimizations. If you have specific variables you want to custom tune, that is usually acceptable, but avoid wholesale Engine.ini replacements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does game mean for a setting?

• Game means it is not controlled by U+ extensions and will set the value that is detected when you start your game
• In some cases, it will use a new U+ default instead of a vanilla value as there are certain settings that need to be changed

What do the preset quality levels mean?

• Low does not mean poor visual quality or that U+ is decreasing settings below vanilla epic settings
• Medium or high should provide a well rounded experience
• Epic is much higher than vanilla epic

How do I know if the mod is running?

• UPM shows a status with “Running - U+ Extensions Active”

Nothing changes, keybinds don’t work

• Enable keybinds in settings if using indivdual setting keybinds
• F12 conflicts with Steam screenshots - disable or rebind
• See Configuration for details

I lose FPS!

• Ultra+ settings are often higher quality than game defaults
• Lower Ultra+ settings don’t mean worse visuals
• Not all games are created equally, some games like Hell is Us and Stalker 2 have very low default settings even at in game epic
• See Performance Guide for optimization

My game crashes on launch!

• Clear your shaders troubleshooting
• Some games like Hogwarts have different paths for clearing shaders, see the specific game page
